On January 8, 2026, Wyomissing Police responded to a significant surge of incidents, handling a total of 19 reported events throughout the day. The range of calls included identity theft, traffic accidents, and noise disturbances, reflecting a busy atmosphere for local law enforcement.

Early Morning Alarm Calls and Mental Health Incident

The day began just after 01:40 a.m. on State Hill Road when officers were called to investigate a woman allegedly attempting to break into her former roommates’ home. Police categorized the call as involving a mental health subject and followed up accordingly. No arrests were made in connection with this incident.

Shortly thereafter, officers were dispatched to Warwick Drive due to a door alarm. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a false alarm. This was followed by an automatic fire alarm at a nearby residence, which was found to have been triggered by a faulty smoke detector, with no emergency conditions present.

In the morning hours, police assisted another department in locating an individual associated with a vehicle in Northumberland County. By the time officers arrived at the Wyomissing address, the individual was no longer present. In a separate traffic stop on Park Road North, a warning was issued for a registration violation.

Afternoon Reports of Theft and Disorderly Conduct

As the day progressed, officers began receiving multiple reports related to financial and property issues. A woman reported that her identity had been used at a business on State Hill Road, although she did not incur any financial loss. She was provided with resources to help combat identity theft.

Additionally, a report came in from a business on Berkshire Boulevard regarding a missing wallet, which contained approximately $70 in property and $100 in cash. A separate incident on State Hill Road involved a woman who was allegedly recording and photographing customers inside a business. After being asked to leave, she complied without incident.

Traffic and safety-related calls continued into the evening. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 near North Wyomissing Boulevard. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no vehicles required towing. Police also investigated a suspicious incident on Bern Road after an employee reported feeling ill after handling a $20 bill, which was subsequently recovered and sent to the Pennsylvania Treasury for further analysis.

Police assisted West Reading officers with requests related to surveillance cameras and conducted a welfare check on Woodland Road after a woman fell while crossing the street. She declined medical assistance.

Later in the night, additional burglar alarms were reported on Berkshire Boulevard and State Hill Road, both of which were determined to be false. In another incident, a carbon monoxide alarm was addressed on Margaret Drive by the Wyomissing Fire Department. A traffic stop on State Hill Road resulted in a citation for a traffic signal violation.

The day concluded with a civil dispute on Park Road North involving a disagreement over keys, which officers resolved through phone communication. A final burglar alarm was reported, again determined to be false.

Authorities noted that all incidents described are preliminary and that any suspected criminal activity remains allegations. Individuals connected to these incidents are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
