URGENT UPDATE: A woman has been arrested in a shocking stabbing incident inside the iconic Macy’s flagship store in Manhattan today. Authorities confirm that Kerri Aherne, 43, from Massachusetts, is charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, and criminal possession of a weapon following the brutal attack at approximately 1:15 p.m.
Police responded swiftly to reports of an assault in progress on the seventh floor of Macy’s Herald Square. Upon arrival, they discovered a 38-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds to her back and a significant cut to her right arm. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where she is now reported to be in stable condition, but the incident has left shoppers and onlookers in shock.
This incident marks the second unprovoked attack inside the renowned department store in just a month. That victim also required hospitalization for serious injuries.
Authorities are investigating the motives behind these attacks, highlighting growing concerns over safety in public spaces. The police have urged anyone with additional information about today’s incident to come forward.
