Students Showcase Weather Art in Baxter Elementary Competition
Students at Baxter Elementary School in Brainerd, Minnesota, are showcasing their creativity through a weather drawing contest. Izzy Bjerketvedt, a third grader in Mrs. Maurer’s class, has made her mark with an impressive piece that captures the essence of changing weather patterns.
The contest encourages young artists to express their understanding of weather phenomena while engaging with the community. Teachers are reminded to submit their students’ drawings to the local newspaper, the Brainerd Dispatch, located at 506 James St., Brainerd, MN, 56401. This initiative not only promotes artistic skills but also fosters a sense of community involvement by highlighting students’ work.
As the deadline approaches, educators are encouraged to motivate their students to participate. This event serves as a wonderful opportunity for children to explore their artistic talents while learning about the environment around them. Art submissions are due soon, and the excitement is palpable among the students and teachers alike.
Participating in such competitions allows students like Izzy to gain recognition for their efforts and could inspire future interests in art and science. The initiative also helps to strengthen the bond between schools and the local community, promoting a culture of creativity and learning.
As the weather changes, so do the artistic interpretations of young minds at Baxter Elementary. It will be interesting to see how these budding artists depict their thoughts on weather through their drawings. The community eagerly awaits the submissions and the chance to celebrate the artistic expression of its youth.
