Veteran Executive David Freeman to Launch Kynetic Media Ventures
David Freeman, the Chief of Digital Media at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), is set to depart from the agency at the end of 2023 to establish his own company, Kynetic Media Ventures, in mid-2026. Having spent the last 15 years at CAA, Freeman aims to create an innovation studio and advisory platform tailored for creator, artist, and athlete-led enterprises that merge storytelling with data and strategic capital.
Freeman expressed his gratitude in a statement, highlighting CAA as a pivotal part of his career. “CAA has been the most formative chapter of my career,” he said. “I’m deeply grateful to CAA’s leadership for their partnership in expanding CAA into new frontiers of digital media and creator representation as the market evolved.” He acknowledged the exemplary team at CAA, stating, “They are the best in the business, and I’m incredibly proud of what we built together for the amazing clients who trusted us early and remain at the forefront of this evolution.”
Transition to Kynetic Media Ventures
Freeman played a crucial role in developing CAA’s digital media division, representing emerging talent on rapidly growing social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Since joining CAA in 2010, he has been instrumental in shaping the creator economy, facilitating connections between Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and Silicon Valley. This experience has positioned him to navigate new models for creators, talent, and athletes as they engage audiences, create original intellectual property, and scale their media platforms.
Kevin Huvane, CAA co-chairman, praised Freeman’s vision. “David’s ability to see what’s around the corner has always set him apart,” he noted. Huvane emphasized Freeman’s understanding of how creators and talent generate value, which will be pivotal as he embarks on this new venture.
Freeman articulated his vision for Kynetic Media Ventures, stating that the launch represents a broader shift in culture and commerce within the media landscape. “Kynetic is built for the age of intelligence, a platform for turning creative equity into long-term enterprise value,” he explained. The initiative will bring together top strategists, technologists, marketers, and operators to build, fund, and advise ventures that unlock innovative forms of intellectual property, business models, and fan engagement across entertainment, sports, and consumer culture.
As the media landscape continues to evolve, Freeman’s transition marks a significant moment in the ongoing dialogue about the intersection of creativity and commerce. The establishment of Kynetic Media Ventures promises to be a noteworthy contribution to this dynamic environment, reflecting the changing needs and opportunities within the industry.
