NBA Partners with Cosm to Transform Live Game Experience
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and immersive technology company Cosm have announced a significant long-term partnership aimed at producing and distributing live NBA games in shared reality. This collaboration will extend through 2030 and beyond, enhancing the fan experience in Cosm’s immersive entertainment venues.
Starting in the 2025-26 NBA season, Cosm will take charge of producing and presenting key national games across popular networks such as ABC/ESPN, NBC/Peacock, and Prime Video. This includes select games and events during the NBA All-Star festivities, the NBA Playoffs, and the NBA Finals.
The partnership began in February 2023, making the NBA the first professional sports league to collaborate with Cosm prior to the opening of its first venue in Los Angeles, set to launch in July 2024. Following this, Cosm has already opened a second venue in Dallas at The Colony’s Grandscape. Additionally, three more venues are planned for Atlanta, Detroit, and Cleveland in 2026 and 2027, with further locations anticipated.
Cosm is redefining how NBA fans experience games by utilizing innovative camera and production technology. This enables the distribution of live games to its impressive 87-foot-diameter, 12K+ LED domes. The venues merge advanced visual technology with the energetic atmosphere of a live crowd, allowing fans to view the game from unique angles, including behind the bench and under the rim.
The Los Angeles venue is expected to be a premier destination during the NBA All-Star activities in February 2026. Fans can look forward to highlights from the inaugural season of the NBA at Cosm, showcasing how this partnership is reshaping sports entertainment.
Teddy Kaplan, Vice President and Head of New Media Partnerships at the NBA, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “The response from fans at Cosm domes last year demonstrated what an incredible way it is to experience an NBA game. We couldn’t be more excited to extend our partnership and look forward to working in lockstep with Cosm to engage our fans.”
Jeb Terry, President and CEO of Cosm, emphasized the significance of the partnership, noting the NBA’s pioneering role as the first league partner. He stated, “With our shared spirit of innovation, passion for the fan experience, and belief in the power of Shared Reality, we will continue to super-serve NBA fans for many years to come, and in many more locations.”
Fans interested in the complete schedule of NBA games at Cosm can visit Cosm.com or download the integrated app available on both the App Store and Google Play Store. This partnership marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of sports viewing, providing a transformative experience that combines technology with the excitement of live basketball.
