Urgent Road Closures Ahead: Highway 37 Maintenance Begins Now
UPDATE: Caltrans has just announced significant road closures on State Route 37 this week as the Capital Preventive Maintenance project is set to continue. Motorists traveling in both directions between Atherton Avenue and the Petaluma River Bridge in Novato should prepare for interruptions from Monday, October 23, 2023, through Friday, October 27, 2023.
Daytime work will focus on pavement striping and erosion control. Eastbound lanes will be affected from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., while westbound lanes will see closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. This construction is critical for maintaining safe travel conditions on this vital route, spanning approximately three miles.
Motorists can expect intermittent ramp closures at the US-101 interchange, as well as at the Hanna Ranch Road and Atherton Avenue exits along SR-37. The success of this project hinges on weather conditions, and drivers are urged to stay informed of any changes.
This project, which includes grinding and repaving of the roadway, is designed to enhance safety and extend the life of this important infrastructure. Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra time for travel to avoid delays.
Stay tuned for further updates as Caltrans progresses with this essential maintenance work. Your safety is our priority!
