Urgent: Medicare Part D Enrollment Opens Oct. 16 on Guam
UPDATE: The annual open enrollment period for Medicare Part D kicks off on October 16 for residents of Guam, running until December 7. This is a crucial opportunity for Medicare beneficiaries to evaluate their prescription drug plans and make necessary changes.
The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) has confirmed that the enrollment window provides participants the chance to enroll in a new drug plan, switch plans, or opt out of the voluntary program entirely. Beneficiaries should act quickly to ensure their coverage aligns with their health needs for the upcoming year.
Key enrollment information includes:
– **Enrollment Appointments**: Available every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.> at the Division of Senior Citizens office, located at 130 University Drive Suite 8, Castle Mall building in Mangilao.
– **Weekly Presentations**: Starting October 16, informational sessions will be held every Thursday at 2 p.m. at the DSC office through December 4.
Please note, there will be no counseling on Tuesday, November 11, due to Veterans Day, and no presentations on Thursday, November 27, in observance of Thanksgiving.
This enrollment period is significant as plan costs and covered benefits may change annually. Beneficiaries who do not wish to alter their current coverage are advised that re-enrollment is not necessary.
