UPDATE: The 35th Housekeeping Olympics kicked off today in Las Vegas, showcasing the incredible skills of hospitality staff from across the city. Held at the Michelob Ultra Arena, this vibrant competition features teams racing in various housekeeping tasks, including mopping, bed-making, and vacuuming.
The event, which took place on November 10, 2025, draws attention to the hardworking individuals who elevate the guest experience in one of the world’s premier tourist destinations. As the competition heated up, participants showcased their expertise with swift floor mopping and efficient bed-making techniques, igniting cheers from an enthusiastic audience.
Videos shared on social media platform X captured the excitement. One clip featured the popular mop relay, where teams zig-zagged across the floor, earning applause from onlookers. This video alone has amassed an impressive 185.7K views, highlighting the event’s popularity.
In a statement, Andy Meese, General Manager of Park MGM, emphasized the significance of the event: “They are the lifeline… they bring the guest experience to life every single day. So it’s a great opportunity to take a step back and recognize the employees for all the work that they do.”
Among the fierce competitors, Resorts World claimed victories in the bed-making and spirit dancing events, while ARIA/Vdara triumphed in the vacuum race. Staples Business excelled in the Buffer Pad Toss and Executive Challenge, with Mandalay Bay/Luxor emerging victorious in the mop relay.
Ultimately, ARIA/Vdara secured the top position in the overall standings, followed closely by Resorts World and Staples Business in second and third places, respectively.
