Celebration of Life for Dale Carstensen Set for Nov. 15 in Trosky

UPDATE: A celebration of life for Dale Otto Carstensen, aged 88, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Trosky Cemetery in Trosky, Minnesota. This graveside service will be officiated by Rev. David J. Petrich as family and friends gather to honor a beloved figure in their community.

Dale Carstensen, known for his unwavering work ethic and love for family, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025. Born on a farm near Trosky on Sept. 7, 1937, Dale dedicated his life to hard work and community involvement, making a significant impact during his time at Schwan’s and later with the O’Brien County Highway Department.

Dale’s life was marked by his deep appreciation for the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and horseback riding, as well as spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, often cheering them on from his home with a cup of coffee in hand.

In July 2019, Dale became a resident of Community Memorial Health Center, where he expressed gratitude for the care he received until his passing. His legacy will be cherished by his children, Scott (Linda) Carstensen, Carrie (Dan) Grapevine, and Steve (Tammie) Carstensen, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister, leaving behind a community that remembers him fondly. The upcoming service will provide an opportunity for all who knew him to celebrate his impactful life and share their memories.

As the date approaches, family and friends encourage everyone to join in remembering Dale’s contributions and the joy he brought to those around him. Edda Hinrichs, his wife, and their children invite everyone to be part of this heartfelt farewell.
