Procyon Advisors Boosts iShares MSCI EAFE ETF Stake by Nearly 700%
Procyon Advisors LLC significantly increased its investment in the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF, boosting its stake by 699.9% during the third quarter of 2023. According to the company’s recent 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Procyon now holds 100,848 shares of the exchange-traded fund (ETF) after acquiring an additional 88,240 shares in the period. The value of Procyon’s holdings in the ETF reached approximately $9,416,000 at the end of September.
Other institutional investors have also made significant adjustments to their positions in the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF. Notably, Laurel Wealth Advisors LLC increased its stake by an extraordinary 8,818.3% during the second quarter, bringing its total to 3,291,030 shares, valued at around $294,185,000 after acquiring an additional 3,254,128 shares.
Additionally, the State Board of Administration of Florida Retirement System established a new position in the ETF valued at approximately $209,353,000 during the same quarter. The Board of Trustees of The Leland Stanford Junior University also expanded its holdings by 222.4%, now owning 3,346,434 shares worth about $299,138,000, following the purchase of an additional 2,308,580 shares.
Bessemer Group Inc. and Corient Private Wealth LLC also increased their investments significantly during the second quarter. Bessemer raised its position by 3,057.6%, owning 2,368,703 shares worth approximately $211,738,000. Meanwhile, Corient Private Wealth raised its stake by 50.7%, holding 5,768,279 shares valued at around $504,181,000. Together, institutional investors now control 79.80% of the ETF’s stock.
As of Thursday, EFA shares opened at $99.30, reflecting a 0.5% increase. The ETF’s 50-day simple moving average stands at $95.75, while its 200-day simple moving average is $93.23. Over the past year, the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF has experienced a low of $72.14 and a high of $99.44. The fund currently boasts a market capitalization of $73.28 billion, a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 16.48, and a beta of 0.84.
The iShares MSCI EAFE ETF, previously known as the iShares MSCI EAFE Index Fund, aims to replicate the performance of the MSCI EAFE Index, which serves as a benchmark for international equity performance. The index includes stocks from Europe, Australasia, and the Far East, allowing investors to gain exposure to a diverse range of international markets.
