Free Concert Series Returns to Mueller Lake Park in Spring 2026
The popular free concert series, Rock the Park, is set to return to the Mueller Lake Park amphitheater in Austin, Texas, for its Spring 2026 season. This initiative, organized by KUTX in collaboration with the family-friendly show Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child, is supported by Dell Children’s Medical Center, which is part of Ascension Seton.
The concerts will feature a lineup of engaging performances designed to entertain audiences of all ages. Admission to the event is free, making it accessible to families and music lovers alike.
Event Logistics and Recommendations
The concerts will take place at the Mueller Lake Park Amphitheater, located at 4550 Mueller Boulevard, Austin, 78723. Public transportation is a convenient option, with CapMetro buses 20, 10, and 350 providing service to the area. For those who prefer to drive, hourly parking is available at the McBee Garage, situated across from the Thinkery, as well as metered spaces throughout the park.
Attendees are encouraged to bring essentials such as water and blankets for comfortable seating on the lawn. As the park embraces a natural setting, a durable blanket is advisable to protect against sticker burrs. Families with children should consider bringing hearing protection, as the concert volume may be elevated despite efforts to keep it at a reasonable level. Complimentary earplugs will be available at the KUTX tent, thanks to support from RK Audiology.
Food options abound, with various restaurants located near the park, and attendees are welcome to bring picnic dinners. Coolers, picnic blankets, and stadium cushions are permitted, while chairs, glass containers, and alcohol are prohibited. Pets are welcome but must be leashed at all times.
Accessibility and Safety Measures
The event organizers prioritize accessibility, designating a visibly marked bench at the amphitheater’s perimeter for individuals with limited mobility. American Sign Language interpreters will be present to assist with interpreting performances. For those requiring additional accommodations or with specific concerns, the organizers encourage direct outreach for support.
In terms of safety, first aid services will be available at the KUTX tent. Parents are advised to establish a meeting point for children in case of separation, with the KUTX tent recommended. Staff and volunteers will remain with any lost children until they are reunited with their guardians.
To maintain the park’s natural beauty, attendees are asked to utilize available recycling and trash disposal options. The organizers emphasize the importance of leaving the area clean so that the community can continue to host such events.
For further inquiries about Rock the Park, individuals can contact the event organizers via email. This series not only promises to deliver enjoyable music but also fosters a sense of community and togetherness among attendees.
