Barton Community College to Award $3,000 in Scholarships at Junior Day
Barton Community College is set to host its annual Junior Day on February 13, 2024, offering local high school juniors valuable insights into their educational futures. The event will run from 09:00 to 12:30 and aims to familiarize students and their parents with the opportunities available at the college.
Those interested in attending can register at juniorday.bartonccc.edu until February 1. Junior Day will include information sessions covering admissions processes, guided campus tours, and the chance to explore various academic majors. A key highlight of the event will be the scholarship giveaways, which will total $3,000. The Admissions Department will award five scholarships: one valued at $1,000 and four at $500 each.
According to Tana Cooper, Director of Admissions at Barton Community College, this event serves as an excellent opportunity for juniors to assess their educational pathways. “Regardless of your plans at this point, this is a great opportunity to explore what courses and career paths you might want to pursue,” Cooper stated.
Participating in Junior Day will provide insights into how attending Barton can benefit students both academically and financially. “Barton offers many of the same classes as four-year schools for transfer students, but at about half the cost,” Cooper noted. She emphasized that many of the college’s career and technical programs can be completed in just one year, providing a quick route to rewarding employment.
The college prides itself on offering robust academic programs and exceptional student support. Cooper encourages all area juniors to take the time to visit the campus. “It’s fun, and it’s free,” she added, highlighting the overall positive experience attendees can expect.
For further information regarding Junior Day, individuals can contact Tana Cooper directly at 620-792-9241 or via email at [email protected]. This event represents a significant step for students as they consider their future educational and career options.
