Six Flags Magic Mountain’s New Coaster Arrives, Thrill Seekers Rejoice
BREAKING: Six Flags Magic Mountain is gearing up for an exhilarating transformation as the first support beams for a groundbreaking roller coaster arrive at the park, promising an unmatched thrill experience in 2026. This new attraction, designed to mimic an off-road motorcycle ride over rugged terrain, is generating excitement among fans and thrill-seekers alike.
According to Screamscape, the roller coaster’s support beams have been delivered to a staging area at the Valencia amusement park, marking a significant step in the construction of “Project 90011.” Magic Mountain officials expressed their enthusiasm, stating,
“We are thrilled that fans celebrate when even a piece of track received to the park elicits excitement, as we saw with a recent delivery of support beams. We look forward to sharing details and progress updates soon. There is so much more to come.”
This latest development is part of a larger strategy by Six Flags to invest $1 billion in new rides across its parks. The new coaster, known as the Vekoma Thrill Glider, is expected to be a suspended motorbike coaster—a unique addition to the park’s already impressive lineup of 19 roller coasters.
Plans for the coaster were unveiled in November 2024, and construction permits were approved by the Los Angeles County Planning Department in January. However, there have been concerns about potential delays, as work has stalled since the initial site clearing of the former Golden Bear Theater, which cleared 3.4 acres for the new ride.
As of now, the park needs to begin installing the coaster track and supports promptly to ensure the ride opens by the anticipated summer of 2026. However, a late 2026 opening remains a possibility, keeping fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation.
Other Six Flags parks may also introduce similar attractions, with surveys indicating interest among season passholders for the Vekoma Thrill Glider at parks like Cedar Point and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
Stay tuned for further updates as construction progresses and Magic Mountain prepares to thrill guests with this innovative ride, which promises to redefine the roller coaster experience in North America.
