Wyndham Partners with Saudi Entrepreneur to Open Ramada in Madinah

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a partnership with Saudi entrepreneur Mohammed Khalid Sabbagh to establish a new hotel in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The hotel will operate under the Ramada by Wyndham brand and will be strategically located in the Al Jamawat district on Al Salam Road, approximately 5 kilometers from the Holy Mosque.
The upcoming Ramada hotel will feature 77 guest rooms designed to cater to the needs of both domestic and international pilgrims visiting the city. Facilities will include an all-day dining venue, fitness amenities, and rooms tailored for various traveller preferences. This initiative aligns with the growing demand for accommodation in Madinah, particularly during peak pilgrimage seasons.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ Country Director for Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Haj Hassan, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to collaborate with Sabbagh on this exciting development in Madinah, a city of deep spiritual and cultural importance.” He emphasized that this partnership reflects Wyndham’s dedication to expanding its footprint in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Kingdom’s vision to position itself as a leading global tourism destination.
Investment in Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Sector
The announcement comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is experiencing a significant surge in tourism. In 2023, the Kingdom welcomed over 110 million visitors, with approximately 30 million coming from abroad. This growth is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to enhance tourism infrastructure through substantial investments.
The introduction of the Ramada by Wyndham in Madinah is a strategic move to support the hospitality sector in response to rising visitor numbers. Mohammed Khalid Sabbagh articulated his commitment to this project, saying, “It is an honour to bring the renowned Ramada by Wyndham brand to the holy city of Madinah. This project represents my personal commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and contributing to the Kingdom’s rapidly growing tourism and hospitality sector.”
Wyndham’s Expanding Presence in the Region
Wyndham’s new venture adds to its existing presence in Saudi Arabia, where it operates hotels in key locations such as Riyadh, Mecca, Jeddah, and Dammam. The company continues to adapt to the evolving needs of the market, recently completing renovations at the Trademark Collection Courtland Grand Hotel to enhance guest experiences.
As the tourism landscape in Saudi Arabia continues to evolve, the development of the Ramada by Wyndham in Madinah reflects both local entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to meeting the needs of a growing number of visitors to this culturally significant city. This partnership not only enhances the hospitality offerings in Madinah but also supports the Kingdom’s ambitious plans for tourism growth and diversification.
