The University at Buffalo School of Management is set to welcome its new Class of 2029 during an on-campus celebration on August 22, 2023. This event marks the beginning of the academic year, emphasizing the school’s commitment to fostering leadership and community engagement among students.

Event Details and Activities

New undergraduate students, along with transfer students, will join faculty and staff for an afternoon of connection and entertainment. The gathering will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Management Center, located in Buffalo, New York. If weather permits, festivities will occur in Paula T. Agrusa Plaza and on the adjacent lawn; otherwise, activities will be moved indoors.

The celebration will include various engaging activities designed to help students acclimate to their new environment. Attendees can participate in mechanical bull rides, human foosball, and even have temporary UB-branded tattoos applied by an airbrush artist. There will also be opportunities to create friendship bracelets and enjoy music from a DJ, in addition to a prize booth.

Connecting with the School Community

Key to the event is the chance for students to connect with their peers, faculty, and alumni. The School of Management aims to facilitate these connections through the event, which will also introduce students to the new Introduction to Management for Majors course. This course is designed to integrate students into their majors and build relationships within the academic community.

At 2:30 p.m., a group photo will be taken to commemorate the incoming Class of 2029, capturing the excitement and energy of the day. The event underscores the school’s dedication to creating a supportive and engaging environment for its students.
