Hugh Laurie Joins Cast as Apple TV’s ‘Tehran’ Season 3 Launches
Hugh Laurie is set to star in the upcoming season of Apple TV’s acclaimed espionage thriller, Tehran. The platform released a first look at season three on January 9, 2024, which will air weekly until February 27, 2024. This season follows the series’ renewal for a fourth installment.
The show, created by Dana Eden, Moshe Zonder, and Maor Kohn, features Laurie in the role of Eric Peterson, a South African nuclear inspector. He will share the screen with Niv Sultan, reprising her role as the Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan. Returning cast members include Shaun Toub and Shila Ommi, alongside new additions such as Sasson Gabai, Phoenix Raei, and Bahar Pars.
In its narrative, Tehran follows Tamar, a hacker-agent who infiltrates Tehran under a false identity. After going rogue at the end of season two and dealing with significant losses among her allies, Tamar faces challenges as she attempts to reinvent herself. The stakes are high; she must regain the trust of the Mossad if she hopes to survive her precarious situation.
The production of the fourth season of Tehran is currently underway, and seasons one and two are available for global streaming on Apple TV. The series is a co-production between Apple TV and KAN 11, Israel’s public broadcaster. Executive producers include Eden and Shula Spiegel for Donna and Shula Productions, along with Alon Aranya for Paper Plane Productions, and Julien Leroux for Paper Entertainment, among others.
