UPDATE: Zohran Mamdani has officially been sworn in as New York City’s 112th mayor just after midnight on November 2, 2023, during a private ceremony. A public inauguration celebration is set for 1 p.m. today at City Hall, and citizens are encouraged to attend or watch online.
The public ceremony promises to be a historic occasion, with key figures including Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and Comptroller-elect Mark Levine also being sworn in. This marks a pivotal moment in NYC politics, reflecting a new direction for the city under Mamdani’s leadership.
