Wabasso Rabbits Dominate RCW Jaguars 46-26 in Football Showdown

UPDATE: The Wabasso Rabbits delivered a commanding performance, securing a 46-26 victory over the Renville County West (RCW) Jaguars on Saturday afternoon, September 30, 2023. This win elevates Wabasso to an impressive record of 5-0 in the season, while RCW falls to 2-3.
In a game marked by explosive plays and strategic execution, Wabasso racked up 399 yards of offense. Sophomore quarterback Drew Kemp was the standout player, completing 16 of 23 passes for 216 yards and throwing a pivotal 20-yard touchdown pass to Zachary Skoblik. Kemp also showcased his versatility on the ground, rushing for 21 yards and scoring two touchdowns on six carries.
Wabasso’s offense was a well-oiled machine, scoring four rushing touchdowns in the first half alone. Skoblik opened the scoring with a 15-yard run, finishing the game with 63 yards on nine attempts. Teammates Sam Zeug and Joseph Rohlik added to the tally with rushing touchdowns of 2 and 14 yards respectively. Zeug recorded 22 yards on nine carries, while Rohlik contributed 49 yards on 11 attempts.
The Rabbits jumped to a significant 26-12 halftime lead, fueled by a 60-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Juan Reyes and a short 2-yard run by Hampton Hebrink for RCW.
As the game progressed, Kemp added his second rushing touchdown, and Nolan Leopold capped Wabasso’s scoring with a 4-yard run. Leopold finished with 30 yards on five carries.
For RCW, senior running back Jacob Savig was a bright spot, rushing for a remarkable 130 yards on 19 attempts and scoring two second-half touchdowns on runs of 31 and 5 yards.
