UPDATE: A massive fire, described as the biggest the city has seen in years, has prompted the evacuation of families in Denver, Colorado. The inferno ignited at 7:45 PM local time on Friday night at a three-story apartment complex under construction on Leetsdale Drive.

More than 100 firefighters are currently battling the blaze, which has been classified as a three-alarm fire—a designation indicating a significant emergency. Robert Murphy, division chief of operations for the Denver Fire Department, stated, “It’s major. I can’t tell you the last time in Denver we had a three-alarm fire this big.”

Authorities have confirmed that nearby residents have been advised to evacuate due to intense heat radiating from the fire. Emergency services are working tirelessly to contain the flames, which are putting nearby structures at risk.

As of now, firefighters have been on the scene for over two hours, with operations ongoing to extinguish the fire. Eyewitnesses report seeing towering flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky, causing alarm among local residents.

This urgent situation continues to develop, and updates will follow as more information becomes available. The Denver Fire Department urges the public to avoid the area to allow emergency services to operate effectively.
