Urgent: Fiber-Optic Drones Transform Ukraine’s Battlefield Tactics

Khyzhak noted that special operators often cannot use much light, complicating the identification of these cables. As a result, they face critical decisions: should they proceed with caution, call an engineer, or detonate what could be a booby trap?
Video footage shared by the 4th Ranger Regiment highlights the dangers posed by these drones. In a tense incident earlier this month, Khyzhak and his team narrowly avoided a drone strike while returning to base. The footage shows cables strewn across their path, underscoring the omnipresence of these threats.
