Three North Butler Bearcats Honored in All-Central District Baseball Team

UPDATE: The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association has just released its Class 1A All-Central District Baseball Team, featuring three standout players from the North Butler Bearcats. Junior pitcher Brody Wangsness and freshman first baseman Wrigley Endelman both secured spots on the prestigious First Team.

Wangsness had an incredible season, boasting a pitching record of 3-2 and an astonishing earned run average of 0.88. In less than 40 innings, he struck out 87 batters and held opponents to a mere .096 batting average. At the plate, Wangsness led the Bearcats with a batting average of .393, a .500 on-base percentage, and a .525 slugging percentage. He also excelled in base running, leading the team with 17 stolen bases out of 20 attempts.

Endelman contributed significantly as well, leading the Bearcats with 15 runs batted in while achieving a solid batting average of .333. Defensively, he demonstrated remarkable skill, fielding at a rate of .959 across 98 defensive chances.

In addition to Wangsness and Endelman, senior second baseman Nolan Reser earned a spot on the Second Team. Reser led the Bearcats in doubles with 6 and maintained a batting average of .290 while achieving a fielding percentage of .937 in the middle infield.

The North Butler Bearcats’ achievements highlight the talent emerging from the program, with Wangsness and Endelman setting a high standard for future athletes.
