URGENT UPDATE: Takkion, a logistics powerhouse based in Casper, Wyoming, is rapidly expanding its operations at Fuller Industries Inc. in Great Bend, Kansas, by leasing an additional 30,000 square feet of space, bringing its total lease to 80,000 square feet. This development, confirmed just hours ago, signals a significant boost for both companies as they align with the growing demands of the renewable energy sector.

The massive wind turbine components, weighing up to 60,000 pounds each, are now occupying a central area in Fuller’s expansive warehouse. Nick Coghill, Takkion’s site manager, emphasized that these components are destined for crucial wind power projects across the United States, marking a pivotal moment for renewable energy logistics.

“This expansion is a boon for us,” said Joe Mann, general manager of Fuller Industries. He noted that the increased leasing not only generates vital revenue but also optimizes previously unused space in the facility. “It’s a win-win for us and those we serve,” Mann added.

Fuller Industries, which boasts a sprawling 600,000 square feet under its roof, is strategically collaborating with Great Bend Economic Development Inc. to promote its leasing opportunities. As the manufacturing landscape evolves, Fuller has recognized the need to clear out obsolete machinery dating back over 50 years from its facility. This effort has included months of selling, recycling, and scrapping outdated industrial equipment.

Mann explained the dual purpose of this initiative: to make room for new product lines and enhance workflow efficiency. “We are shuffling things around, consolidating, and reorganizing,” he stated, highlighting the company’s commitment to modernizing its operations.

This significant shift not only creates opportunities for Takkion but also paves the way for potential partnerships with other local businesses, such as Red Barn Pet Foods, which have previously leased space at Fuller.

As the renewable energy sector continues to grow, Takkion’s expansion at Fuller Industries stands as a testament to the increasing demand for logistics support in this field. With the U.S. investing heavily in sustainable energy solutions, this partnership is set to play a crucial role in facilitating the transition.
