URGENT UPDATE: A powerhouse lineup of artists will perform at the “Concert for Altadena” on January 7, 2024, to honor the one-year anniversary of the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires. Organizers from the Los Angeles-based band Dawes announced today that music icons including Brad Paisley, Mandy Moore, Brandon Flowers, and Jackson Browne will take the stage at the Pasadena Civic Center.

This concert aims to raise crucial funds for the Altadena Builds Back Foundation, which supports long-term housing recovery for victims of the Eaton fire. Proceeds will also assist the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund, directly benefiting local non-profit organizations aiding families affected by the fires.

The impact of the January fires was devastating, with numerous musicians losing their homes and instruments. Prominent artists like Aloe Blacc and Jenny Lewis were among those affected. Blacc’s family lost multiple properties, including his children’s school, while Lewis had to evacuate her home just before her birthday.

The emotional toll is palpable. Mandy Moore shared a heartbreaking image of her fire-destroyed home on Instagram, expressing that the “contents of our home are a near total loss.” This concert not only serves as a fundraiser but also as a moment of solidarity for those who have suffered.

Dawes’ members, Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, who are spearheading the event, faced their own losses, with their homes and recording studio destroyed in the fires. They previously participated in benefit concerts, including one with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, showcasing their commitment to helping their community recover.

“It’s gonna be a heavy night but it’s going to be a beautiful one, too,” the band stated on Instagram, emphasizing the concert’s dual purpose of remembrance and hope.

Those eager to attend can register for presale tickets now at https://dawestheband.com/. General ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on November 7, 2023.

This concert represents a significant effort in the ongoing recovery from the fires that changed lives forever. As the community comes together to heal, this event underscores the power of music to unite and uplift during challenging times.

Stay tuned for further developments as we approach this pivotal event.
