BREAKING: In a shocking incident during last night’s game, Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham was struck by a flying sex toy while facing the Los Angeles Sparks. The bizarre event unfolded in the final minutes of the second quarter, adding to a troubling trend in the WNBA where such objects have been thrown onto the court multiple times in recent weeks.

This marks the third occurrence of a projectile sex toy being hurled during WNBA games, following incidents in Atlanta on July 29 and Chicago on August 1. Just hours before the game, Cunningham expressed her concerns about players potentially being hit by such objects during an episode of her podcast.

“I just know how things go viral now,” Cunningham told listeners. “If that thing came and slapped me right in the face, I could never live it down. It could break a f—in nose,” she added, highlighting the absurdity of the situation.

In a twist of irony, Cunningham’s mother even warned her with a message: “watch out for flying dildos tonight,” instead of offering a typical good luck text. Unfortunately, this incident overshadowed the Fever’s performance, as they fell to the Sparks with a final score of 100-91.

After the game, Cunningham took to social media to reflect on her earlier statement, writing, “This did not age well,” while urging fans to stop throwing objects onto the court. “Stop throwing dildos on the court… you’re going to hurt one of us,” she previously tweeted.

The WNBA is taking these incidents seriously. Following the events of last week, authorities arrested a 23-year-old man, Delbert Carver, who faces multiple charges including disorderly conduct and public indecency for throwing an object onto the court. Carver was booked into Clayton County jail in Georgia, where his case is currently pending.

The WNBA reiterated its commitment to player safety, stating, “The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans.” The league also announced that any fan who intentionally throws an object will face immediate ejection and a minimum one-year ban from games, in addition to potential legal prosecution.

As the WNBA continues to address this troubling trend, fans and players alike are left to wonder what measures will be taken to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
