Sahara Express Launches Fast-Casual Dining at Greektown Casino
BREAKING: Sahara Express, one of metro Detroit’s favorite Middle Eastern restaurant chains, just opened a fast-casual location at the Hollywood Casino in Greektown. The new outlet debuted today in the Monroe Market food hall, marking an exciting expansion for the beloved brand.
Owner Zeana Attisha expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We’re truly grateful to be part of the Hollywood Casino at Greektown culinary lineup and to join such a vibrant collection of dining concepts.” The new location allows Sahara Express to introduce its authentic flavors to a wider audience in a fast, convenient setting.
Patrons can expect a delightful menu featuring popular dishes like chicken shawarma, beef kafta, and chicken tikka, along with build-your-own bowls. This expansion is particularly significant for guests looking for delicious, quick dining options in the heart of downtown Detroit.
The Attisha family has been serving the community since they opened their first Sahara restaurant in 1981 in Ferndale. While that location has since closed, Sahara has grown to include additional sites in Detroit, Oak Park, and Sterling Heights.
John Drake, general manager of Hollywood Casino at Greektown, shared his excitement about the new addition. “Sahara is a trusted and respected brand in Michigan, and their express concept adds even more variety and cultural flavor to our dining offerings for guests.”
Sahara Express will be open from noon to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, catering to both daytime and late-night diners.
Located at 1211 Chrysler Dr., Detroit, guests can find more information on the casino’s website and Sahara’s official page. This new dining option not only enriches the culinary landscape of Greektown but also promises to deliver a taste of home for many residents and visitors alike.
