Robert Caro Receives Prestigious Award, Reflects on Childhood

Dudamel, during his onstage interview with philanthropist David M. Rubenstein, acknowledged the weight of following in the footsteps of legendary predecessors like Gustav Mahler and Leonard Bernstein. “My God, every time that I work there, I say, ‘What am I doing here?’” he remarked, highlighting the pressure of his new role.
