Ridgewater Warriors Sweep Mesabi Range in Thrilling Showdown
UPDATE: The Ridgewater Warriors men’s and women’s basketball teams both achieved impressive victories over Mesabi Range on November 24, 2023, in a compelling doubleheader at Willmar. The men triumphed with a nail-biting score of 97-94, while the women secured a solid win at 87-69.
In a high-octane matchup, the Ridgewater men’s team, now boasting an 8-2 record, saw four players reach double digits. Leading the charge was DeAndre Holloway, who delivered a phenomenal performance with 23 points and 12 rebounds, marking his eighth double-double of the season. Holloway’s impressive averages of 18.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per game underscore his critical role in the team’s success.
Freshman guard Brenton McKinney also shone brightly, scoring a career-high 22 points while shooting 7 of 14 from the field and converting 6 of 10 free throws. Tyrese Mayo and Connor Whittet contributed 14 and 10 points respectively, solidifying the Warriors’ offensive effort.
