Rep. Sam Liccardo Launches Key Bills to Regain House Majority

His latest initiative, the Safeguarding the Use of the National Guard Act, follows a similar purpose, requiring the president to provide detailed reports on the deployment of the National Guard, particularly amid rising tensions in urban areas. Liccardo emphasized that “Americans remain in the dark about… the many ways in which we pay a price for this unprecedented deployment.”

He is working on coastal resiliency projects to combat infrastructure challenges exacerbated by climate change. Following the devastating CZU Lightning Complex Fire, he is collaborating with local leaders to implement innovative solutions like AI smoke sensors to mitigate future risks. “We know it’s not there now… we’re seeing how we can ensure that we’re at the front of the line when the opportunity is there,” he stated, reflecting a proactive approach to disaster readiness.
