URGENT UPDATE: Texas Rangers first baseman Jake Burger is set to undergo tests on his sore left wrist, leading to his absence for at least two to three games. This news comes just ahead of the Rangers’ crucial three-game series against the Kansas City Royals, which begins on Monday.

Burger, who contributed an RBI single in the Rangers’ 10-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, was replaced by pinch-hitter Ezequiel Duran in the seventh inning due to the discomfort. Manager Bruce Bochy confirmed the seriousness of the situation, stating, “He’s going to go back home and get it looked at. We’ll have an MRI done and find out what’s going on there.”

This injury is particularly concerning as Burger has been a key player for the Rangers, currently batting .242 with 12 home runs and 41 RBIs. In his last 18 games, he has recorded 12 RBIs and scored nine runs. Despite feeling soreness during his first at-bat on Saturday, Burger continued to play, expressing optimism about the injury: “I don’t feel like I’m totally swinging like I normally do. I’m really hopeful that it’s just a quick check it out and go from there.”

This is not Burger’s first injury setback this season. He has already missed significant time due to a strained left oblique and a strained left quadriceps earlier this year. His absence will be felt as the Rangers look to maintain their momentum in the competitive AL West standings.

As the situation develops, fans and teammates alike are hoping for positive news from Burger’s MRI. Keep an eye on updates regarding his condition and the impact it may have on the Rangers’ lineup moving forward.
