PAWS Launches Urgent ‘Perfectly Impurrfect’ Adoption Drive
UPDATE: The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has just announced the urgent return of its “Perfectly Impurrfect” adoption promotion, kicking off on Friday, October 24 and running through Sunday, November 9. With shelter intake alarmingly high, this initiative aims to find loving homes for pets in need while creating space for more animals in crisis.
During the “Perfectly Impurrfect” campaign, adopters can name their own adoption fee for included cats and dogs. This crucial effort not only helps animals find homes but also enables PAWS to rescue another pet in their place. The urgency cannot be overstated—every adoption directly impacts the lives of pets waiting for a chance at happiness.
Meet Enya, a sweet 16-year-old lap cat who embodies the spirit of this initiative. She thrives on affection, despite facing manageable senior conditions like kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. To support her transition into a new home, PAWS is providing three months of medication and a special diet to ensure she starts her next chapter on the right foot.
“Sometimes the pets who need us most are the ones people overlook,” says Tammy Miller, PAWS’ Senior Foster and Adoption Manager. “When you open your heart to a pet with unique needs or preferences, you realize how extraordinary ‘imperfect’ can be.”
PAWS is calling on animal lovers across the region to consider adopting during this critical time. Cats like Applesauce, a playful 14-year-old with manageable skin allergies, are waiting for their forever homes. Applesauce is friendly, confident, and ready to fill someone’s life with joy.
As part of the promotion, PAWS will host three in-person adoption events:
– Saturday, October 25, 12-2 PM: PetSmart, 1415 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19146
– Sunday, November 2, 11 AM-5 PM: PAWS’ Old City Adoption Center, 100 N. 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106
– Sunday, November 9, 11 AM-5 PM: PAWS’ Old City Adoption Center
