UPDATE: The highly anticipated Oklahoma Air Fest kicks off today, September 5-7, 2023, at the Canadian County Expo in El Reno, promising a spectacular lineup of aerial stunts, live entertainment, and community festivities. Organizers expect an impressive 10,000 daily attendees as they debut this first-of-its-kind event in the state.

This innovative festival features a diverse array of activities, including breathtaking aerial displays from paramotor and paraglider pilots, thrilling BMX and skateboarding exhibitions, and a classic car show. According to Carri Lawrence, the festival’s founder, the event is designed to showcase the beauty of flight and adventure sports in Oklahoma’s unique landscape. “We’ve never seen this either,” Lawrence expressed, highlighting the excitement and novelty of the festival for local residents.

In a notable show of support, Governor Kevin Stitt has officially proclaimed this week as Oklahoma Air Fest Week, underscoring the festival’s significance to the community. Attendees can also enjoy food trucks, a Dog Show Extravaganza, and a giant kite show, ensuring there is something for everyone.

The highlight of the festival will undoubtedly be the aerial shows featuring renowned athletes from Jaco Sport Fest-FEST Internacional of Costa Rica. The lineup includes global record-holder Ramón Morillas and sustainability advocate Nico Aubert, who will dazzle spectators with their acrobatic skills.

For those less inclined towards high-octane thrills, the festival offers daily helicopter rides and hot air balloon displays, promising picturesque views of the Oklahoma skyline. Tickets are available at the gate, ranging from $40 for single-day passes to $150 for VIP Day Passes, making it accessible for all adventure seekers.

Organizers aim to establish the Oklahoma Air Fest as an annual event, with plans already in motion for next year’s festivities. Lawrence is optimistic about future collaborations, hinting at a potential merger with other local air shows to celebrate the upcoming 100-year Route 66 anniversary.

With excitement building and local support swelling, the Oklahoma Air Fest is set to redefine entertainment in the region. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a groundbreaking event that promises to thrill and inspire!
