UPDATE: Nebraska’s head football coach Matt Rhule has launched a new podcast titled ‘House Rhules’, aiming to enhance the team’s brand and boost his players’ name, image, and likeness (NIL) earnings. The podcast debuted on Thursday, July 13, 2023, and Rhule co-hosts it with Philadelphia radio personality Anthony Gargano.

“This is the new world of college sports,” Rhule stated, emphasizing the need for transparency and engagement with fans. The podcast aims to provide exclusive insights into Nebraska’s football program while also addressing broader topics like professional sports and pop culture.

The Huskers experienced a notable turnaround under Rhule, improving from a 5-7 record to 7-6 in his first two seasons. As they gear up for their upcoming game against Cincinnati at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday, Rhule’s initiative could be pivotal for both team morale and financial opportunities for players.

Rhule plans to dedicate an extra hour each week to ensure the podcast meets high standards. “Let’s go out there and hopefully get interesting guests and do it year-round,” he said. He expressed commitment to continue the podcast as long as there is viewer interest, stating, “If people watch it, we’ll do it and I’ll do the best I can with it.”

The podcast serves as a platform not just for Rhule’s insights but also as a means for players to increase their visibility and potential earnings through NIL deals. With college athletics evolving rapidly, this initiative positions Nebraska at the forefront of these changes, appealing to both fans and recruits alike.

Fans can expect fresh episodes weekly, offering a glimpse into the future of Nebraska football and its players. As college sports continue to adapt to new financial realities, Rhule’s podcast may prove to be a game-changer for the program and its athletes.

Stay tuned for further updates as the season progresses and the impact of ‘House Rhules’ unfolds.
