Mariners’ Bryce Miller, Victor Robles Set for Injury Returns

UPDATE: The Seattle Mariners are on the verge of welcoming back key players as starting pitcher Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles near their returns from injuries. General Manager Justin Hollander confirmed their progress just ahead of the Mariners’ crucial series opener against the Chicago White Sox.
Bryce Miller, currently 2-5, has been sidelined due to right elbow inflammation. He is scheduled to make his second rehab start on Thursday with Triple-A Tacoma. Hollander indicated that while Miller is eager to return, he likely needs at least one more rehab start before rejoining the big league roster. “No matter how much Bryce begs for that to be the last one,” Hollander stated. “Stuff looked top of the scale. He told me that was the best he’s felt, including Day 1 of spring training.”
Victor Robles, who has been out since April after dislocating his left shoulder, is also making strides. Hollander reported that Robles is expected to begin his rehab assignment on August 12. This season, he has recorded a batting average of .273 with three RBIs in just 44 at-bats. “The first couple of days will be DH days, mixed in outfield days,” Hollander explained, emphasizing the need to replicate spring training.
The Mariners are also monitoring the recovery of infielder Ryan Bliss, who is targeting a rehab assignment in September. Meanwhile, utilityman Luke Raley, who was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 27, began his hitting progression on Tuesday and could return as early as this weekend against Tampa Bay.
In another update, reliever Trent Thornton successfully underwent surgery for an Achilles injury. His recovery is projected to take six to eight months.
This news is pivotal for the Mariners as they look to solidify their roster and enhance their playoff prospects. Fans and analysts alike will be closely watching these developments, making their returns a critical aspect of the season’s final stretch.
Stay tuned for more updates as the situation evolves and the Mariners aim to regain their momentum with the return of key players.
