John Doyle and Cathie Ryan to Perform “An Irish Christmas” Dec. 18
URGENT UPDATE: Renowned Irish musicians John Doyle and Cathie Ryan are set to perform their acclaimed show, “An Irish Christmas,” on Thursday, December 18, 2023, at 7 p.m. This highly anticipated event will take place at 25 E. Main St., Frostburg, Maryland, promising an unforgettable evening filled with festive music and heartfelt stories.
This live performance, presented by Frostburg State University’s Mountain City Traditional Arts (MCTA), is open to the public with a suggested donation of $15. Doyle and Ryan are not only longtime friends but also celebrated collaborators, having toured extensively throughout Europe. They are members of the all-star ensemble The Irish Music Masters and have been featured on the PBS special The Soul of Christmas. Doyle, hailing from a musical family in Dublin, has been a significant influence in the folk and Celtic music scenes for over thirty-five years. His innovative guitar style and arrangements have captivated audiences worldwide.
Ryan, celebrated for her luminous voice and deep connection to Irish music, has also made a name for herself as a tour leader, sharing her expertise in Irish folklore and song traditions. Both artists have received numerous accolades, solidifying their status as icons in the genre.
