UPDATE: In a stunning display of dominance, Johannes Lochner secured his second consecutive victory in the World Cup four-man bobsled race on Sunday, leading a complete German sweep of the podium in Lillehammer, Norway. As he gears up for retirement after the February 2026 Olympics, Lochner’s performance is shaping his farewell season into one of the most remarkable of his career.

The German team showcased their strength as Lochner’s crew clinched first place, followed by Adam Ammour in second and Francesco Friedrich in third. This victory marks the fourth time this season that German bobsledders have achieved a 1-2-3 sweep in men’s events, with the team capturing a staggering 16 out of 18 medals available so far.

Kris Horn led the U.S. contingent, finishing in sixth place, while the German women continued their streak, with Laura Nolte taking first in the two-woman race, followed by teammates Kim Kalicki and Lisa Buckwitz. Notably, Kaysha Love was fourth for the U.S., just ahead of Kaillie Humphries Armbruster.

This extraordinary performance by the German bobsled team highlights not only their current dominance but also sets the stage for an exhilarating competitive season ahead.

As the action continues, fans can look forward to upcoming events: the women’s monobob and two-man races scheduled for Saturday at Sigulda, Latvia, followed by the women’s World Cup skeleton race on Thursday and several luge events at Lake Placid, New York on Friday.

Stay tuned for more updates as the excitement builds leading into the Olympics where Lochner aims to leave a lasting legacy on the sport. The world is watching!
