Jake Paul Defends ICE Agents, Critiques Billie Eilish at Olympics
UPDATE: Jake Paul has sparked controversy while attending the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, where he defended ICE agents and criticized American skier Hunter Hess. The events unfolded on February 7, 2026, as Paul cheered on his fiancée, speedskater Jutta Leerdam, and watched the USA face off against Finland in women’s hockey, winning 5-0.
While in Italy, Paul attended the game with Vice President JD Vance, but his focus quickly shifted to social media, where he made headlines for his comments on law enforcement. “If you don’t like ICE then you can’t call 911 when you’re in trouble,” Paul posted on X, defending the officers in a statement that has since ignited debate.
In a follow-up, Paul took aim at singer Billie Eilish, who made recent remarks defending illegal immigrants during her Grammy acceptance speech. “When Billie Eyelash gets her home broken into it’s not gonna be f–k ICE I can promise you that,” he tweeted, referencing Eilish’s statement that “nobody is illegal on stolen land.”
Paul’s critiques didn’t stop there. Earlier in the day, he targeted American Olympic skier Hunter Hess for expressing mixed feelings about representing the U.S. “Wow pls shut the f–k up. From all true Americans,” Paul wrote. “If you don’t want to represent this country go live somewhere else.”
This controversy comes as Paul prepares for his fiancée’s upcoming race in the 1,000 meters, where Leerdam aims for gold after winning a silver medal in Beijing four years ago. As the Winter Olympics continue, the influence of athletes like Paul and the public’s reaction to their statements highlight the intersection of sports and social issues.
With emotions running high, the implications of Paul’s comments resonate deeply with many. As Olympic events unfold, fans and critics alike will be watching closely to see how these statements impact the ongoing discussions around immigration and representation in sports.
