BREAKING: A brand-new trailer for Hideo Kojima’s highly anticipated game, OD, has just dropped during a special livestream marking the 10th anniversary of Kojima Productions. The video showcases approximately 3 minutes of in-engine footage created using Unreal Engine 5, and it undeniably evokes the haunting atmosphere of the acclaimed P.T..

The trailer, presented by Xbox head Phil Spencer alongside Kojima, reveals a chilling scene featuring the possible protagonist, portrayed by Sophia Lillis, as she enters a dimly lit room filled with an unsettling candle display. As Lillis’ character begins to light the candles, eerie and disturbing occurrences unfold, amplifying the game’s horror elements.

Kojima emphasized the game’s unique approach, stating it will blur the lines between gaming and film, yet refrained from providing specific details. Phil Spencer added that OD is trailblazing “in gameplay, story, and player engagement,” though specifics remain elusive. Microsoft is reportedly providing technical support for this intriguing project.

The suspense surrounding OD continues to build as it reportedly avoided cancellation at Microsoft. In a separate context, Silent Hill F recently released a new story-focused trailer, while Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya challenged Kojima to create another P.T..

The trailer’s sound design is notably oppressive, with most scenes captured from a first-person perspective, enhancing the immersive horror experience. Kojima declined to disclose how far along in development the game is, leaving fans in suspense. The game will carry the subtitle Knock, a reflection of Kojima’s personal fears, which fans of P.T. might recognize.

Despite the trailer’s focus on candle lighting, Kojima humorously clarified that it is “not a game about lighting candles,” adding, “you’ll probably poo in your pants or whatever.” The game, announced in 2023, will also feature performances from Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier.

Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling project as the gaming world eagerly anticipates further revelations about OD.
