UPDATE: Hellenic Senior Living in Elkhart is set to begin moving back 123 evacuated residents on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, following a major water main break that forced the community to evacuate.

Residents have been anxiously awaiting the return to their homes after being displaced due to the emergency. The water main break occurred earlier this month, leading to significant disruptions in the daily lives of those affected.

The management at Hellenic has confirmed that repairs have been completed, ensuring that the community is safe and ready for reoccupation. “We are thrilled to welcome our residents back home,” said a spokesperson for Hellenic Senior Living.

This urgent update comes as the senior living community works to restore normalcy for its residents, many of whom are elderly and require stable living conditions. The emotional toll of the evacuation has been significant, and staff members are eager to provide support during this transition.

As the reopening date approaches, families are encouraged to prepare for the return of their loved ones, and staff are putting final arrangements in place to facilitate a smooth move back.

Stay tuned for more updates as Hellenic Senior Living prepares to resume operations.
