Hallsville’s Kaycin Farrell Named Volleyball Player of the Week
BREAKING: Hallsville’s Kaycin Farrell has been named the Marshall News Messenger’s Week One Volleyball Player of the Week after an outstanding performance on the court. With an impressive tally of 67 kills and a remarkable .331 hitting percentage, Farrell’s skills helped her team shine in the first week of volleyball across East Texas.
Just announced, Farrell not only showcased her offensive prowess but also contributed defensively with 54 digs. This recognition highlights her pivotal role in Hallsville’s recent matches and sets a high standard for the season ahead.
Other standout players included Marshall’s Danika Cantu and Waskom’s trio of Payton Myers, Michelle Hernandez, and Jada Spencer. Cantu made headlines on August 12, surpassing 1,000 career digs during a match against New Diana, where she recorded 37 digs, seven assists, and two service aces.
The competition at the Central Heights Tournament showcased significant talent as well. Waskom’s Myers delivered a stellar performance with 13 aces, 22 kills, and 36 digs. Hernandez and Spencer also impressed, with Hernandez notching 15 aces and 16 kills, while Spencer contributed with 56 digs alongside six kills and three aces.
