BREAKING: A gunman opened fire from a nearby roof at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in Dallas this morning, resulting in the deaths of two detainees and leaving another critically injured. The shooter, who subsequently took his own life, targeted the facility in what authorities are calling an indiscriminate attack.

The incident unfolded at approximately 10:00 AM local time as the victims were inside a van parked just outside the facility. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that all three individuals were ICE detainees. Eyewitness reports indicate chaos erupted as shots rang out, with nearby offices and businesses going into lockdown.

Officials discovered ammunition at the scene featuring anti-ICE messaging, raising serious concerns about the motives behind this brutal attack. Kash Patel, the head of the FBI, displayed a bullet marked with “ANTI-ICE” during a press conference, emphasizing the attack’s apparent ideological motivations. Secretary Kristi Noem condemned the shooting, stating, “This vile attack was motivated by hatred for ICE.”

Senator Ted Cruz addressed the media, highlighting the alarming trend of violence directed at ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities in Texas. “This is the third shooting in Texas directed at ICE or CBP. This must stop,” he urged, calling on politicians to cease rhetoric that demonizes these agencies. In response, Democratic U.S. Representative Marc Veasey criticized officials for allegedly trying to downplay the identities of the victims, voicing his disgust during a live broadcast on WFAA-TV.

The shooting took place near Interstate 35 East, not far from Dallas Love Field, a major airport serving the region. The facility is known for the short-term processing of detainees, many of whom may have been recently arrested by ICE.

This attack follows a series of violent incidents at ICE facilities. Just weeks ago, a July 4 shooting at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, injured a police officer, while another incident on July 7 involved a gunman firing at federal agents in McAllen. These alarming events underscore the rising tensions surrounding immigration enforcement in the U.S.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The community is in shock, and law enforcement is working diligently to ensure safety and accountability in the wake of this tragic event.

Stay tuned for more updates as this situation develops.
