UPDATE: Georgie Prespakis has just claimed her second best and fairest award at the Geelong Cats’ annual count, solidifying her status as one of the league’s top talents. The 22-year-old superstar dominated the event over the weekend, finishing with an impressive 185 votes, a staggering 75 votes ahead of her closest competitor, teammate Nina Morrison.

This milestone follows last week’s historic recognition of the league’s best young players and comes after a career-best season for Prespakis. She averaged 25 touches per game, showcasing her prowess with exceptional clearance stats, which ranked her among the best in the entire competition by the end of the home-and-away season. Prespakis recorded career-high numbers in several categories, including inside 50s, contested possessions, and score involvements.

Earlier this month, Prespakis also excelled in the AFL Coaches Association’s AFLW Champion Player of the Year, finishing third overall. She garnered maximum votes in four out of twelve matches, demonstrating her consistent excellence and earning best-on-ground recognition in each of the Cats’ wins.

The thrilling best-and-fairest awards were determined through a voting system where players received five to one votes from Geelong’s senior coach and three assistant coaches. Prespakis’s performance this season has put her in strong contention for the AFLW competition’s best and fairest count, set to take place next Monday night.

In addition to her accolades, Prespakis made history by becoming a five-time selection in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 team, a feat unmatched by any player. Her exceptional performance this year was paralleled only by the Suns’ Charlie Rowbottom. Both athletes have been featured in the 22Under22 team every season they’ve played.

Meanwhile, fellow star Zippy Fish received recognition in her debut season, adding to the excitement surrounding Geelong’s rising talent.

As the buzz around Prespakis continues to grow, fans and analysts alike are eager to see how her achievements will translate in the upcoming AFLW awards. With her remarkable season now in the books, all eyes will be on Prespakis to see if she can add to her accolades next week.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story, as Georgie Prespakis remains a key player to watch in the AFLW landscape.
