Firefighters Rescue 3 Pets from Kalihi Apartment Blaze Today

BREAKING: Firefighters have successfully extinguished a fire in a two-story apartment building in Kalihi Valley this morning, rescuing three pets in a dramatic operation. The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received an urgent 911 call at 10:39 a.m. regarding flames at 2342 Kalena Drive, just off Likelike Highway.

Upon arrival, HFD promptly dispatched 11 units and a total of 42 firefighters to tackle the blaze. Fortunately, there were no occupants inside the burning structure when they arrived, as one resident had evacuated safely prior to their arrival. Medical care for this individual was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 11:05 a.m., though their current condition remains unknown.

Firefighters worked swiftly, bringing the fire under control by 10:56 a.m. and fully extinguishing it by 11:04 a.m.. In a heartwarming turn of events, they rescued two dogs and a cat, successfully reuniting them with their grateful owner.
