UPDATE: YouTube sensation Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, has been granted bail in a high-profile case involving the promotion of illegal gambling apps. The Lahore High Court approved his bail request on October 30, 2025, releasing him from custody after more than two months.

This significant development comes after his arrest on August 17, 2025, at Lahore Airport, where officials from the NCCIA detained him for allegedly promoting gambling applications through his YouTube channel. He was ordered to submit surety bonds worth Rs 1 million (approximately $11,174) as part of his release conditions.

The ruling, delivered by Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry, marked a turning point in a case that has drawn considerable public attention and scrutiny. Saad-ur-Rehman appeared in court with a legal team that included prominent lawyers Imran Chadhar and Shaharyar Goraiah.

The investigation into Ducky Bhai began earlier this summer, with authorities launching a probe on June 13, 2025, into allegations that several social media influencers were promoting gambling apps for financial gain. The First Information Report (FIR) claims that numerous individuals lost money through these platforms, with Rehman allegedly endorsing multiple applications and serving as a “Country Manager” for one.

Notably, the FIR cited 27 videos from his channel that purportedly promoted these gambling services, although many have since been removed. Ducky Bhai’s initial attempts to secure bail were denied by lower courts, prompting his appeal to the High Court.

As the case unfolds, the complexity deepens, particularly after allegations emerged in late October that nine NCCIA officials misused their authority and accepted bribes from Saad-ur-Rehman. These bribery accusations have raised serious questions about the integrity of the investigation.

While the court’s decision allows Rehman to leave custody, charges against him under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and related sections of the Pakistan Penal Code remain intact. Pakistani authorities previously blocked numerous betting and unregulated trading applications as part of their crackdown on electronic fraud.

As this story develops, many are watching closely to see how the allegations against both Ducky Bhai and the NCCIA officials will impact the broader conversation about online gambling in Pakistan. For now, the YouTuber’s release is a crucial moment in a case that has captivated both fans and critics alike.

Stay tuned for more updates as this story evolves. The implications of this case could resonate far beyond the courtroom, affecting the landscape of digital content creation and regulation in the region.
