BREAKING: Dnsys has just launched its groundbreaking Z1 knee exoskeleton, raising an impressive $1 million on Kickstarter within the first ten days. This innovative device is designed to significantly enhance everyday movement, providing crucial support to those with mobility challenges.

The Z1 knee exoskeleton is a response to urgent demands from both users and medical professionals, marking a pivotal advancement in assistive technology. JoJo, a co-founder of Dnsys, emphasizes the necessity of such technology, stating, “It is very important to use the technology to enhance people’s mobility, because every person will become old.”

What makes the Z1 stand out? Weighing just 1.5 lbs (680 g) per leg for the aluminum-carbon fiber version, and 1.4 lbs (640 g) for the pro titanium-carbon fiber model, the Z1 is designed to be lightweight yet powerful. Equipped with a custom DNA-1 motor generating 450 watts of peak power, the device effectively redistributes pressure from the knees, making it easier for users to navigate stairs or carry heavy loads, such as a 35 kg backpack.

The Z1 is set to ship in November 2025, ahead of competitors like the Skip knee exoskeleton, which is projected for a 2026 release at five times the price. This timing positions Dnsys as a leader in the exoskeleton market, with Nick from the marketing team asserting, “Among all those competitors you can see on the market, I believe ours is the most advanced.”

The Z1’s versatility allows it to be used alongside Dnsys’s existing X1 hip exoskeleton for a comprehensive mobility solution. Users have already reported remarkable experiences, with some able to play basketball and even attempt backflips, although safety precautions are advised.

For those concerned about performance, the Z1 boasts a runtime of up to three hours for a single leg, four hours for the standard dual-leg model, and an impressive eight hours for the pro version. The system also includes regenerative charging capabilities while descending, enhancing its practicality.

Safety features are paramount as well; the Z1 includes built-in fall detection technology that disengages the motors during unexpected falls, ensuring users can maintain mobility rather than become immobilized. The lithium batteries, sourced from a top-tier manufacturer, comply with all safety certifications and can be removed swiftly in under three seconds if needed.

In addition to its impressive specifications, Dnsys is making strides in affordability by utilizing advanced AI tools to streamline development and reduce costs. JoJo notes, “We make it lighter on our processor, and it can make our component a little bit cheaper. We can make our product affordable, and it also can process very quickly.” This innovation allows the Z1 to run on a low-speed 240 MHz dual-core processor while delivering a rapid reaction time of just 0.01 seconds.

The Z1’s design considers user comfort, featuring removable fabric covers for easy cleaning and an IP54 rating for water resistance. With its ability to adapt to various terrains and user physiques, the Z1 aims to transform exoskeletons into “power clothes” that are as comfortable as sportswear.

As the world watches the rise of Dnsys, this launch represents not just a technological advancement but a significant step toward improved quality of life for individuals facing mobility challenges. The urgency of this innovation cannot be overstated, as it promises to pave the way for a future where enhanced mobility is universally accessible.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Dnsys Z1 and its impact on the mobility sector.
