URGENT UPDATE: The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance has just announced the launch of digital passports for the highly anticipated Go Taste Berks Passport Challenge, starting November 1, 2025. This month-long event invites food and drink enthusiasts to explore the best offerings across the Greater Reading region, making it an opportunity not to be missed!

This year’s event marks a significant shift from the traditional paper passports used last year. Now, attendees can easily navigate the challenge with a $25 digital passport, which will not only enhance accessibility but also allow the GRCA to track visitor engagement at participating businesses. According to Leah Fassnacht, GRCA Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, the digital format simplifies the experience for participants while providing valuable insights for local businesses.

With 30 local businesses already on board, attendees can enjoy a variety of experiences ranging from bars and restaurants to breweries, cafes, and retail markets. Each business will feature a QR code for easy check-ins, allowing passport holders to earn points and redeem special deals or samples. A digital map will also be accessible, pinpointing all participating locations and their unique offerings.

The excitement doesn’t stop there! Passport holders can accumulate points by engaging in activities such as posting photos or reviews of their culinary experiences. These points contribute to a digital leaderboard, with the top three participants winning exclusive prizes, including a Berks Wellness Experience from Baja Beach Wellness and a Berks Winter Getaway Experience from Folino Estate Winery.

As of now, GRCA anticipates even more vendors joining the event before the launch. The most frequently visited vendor, determined by digital check-ins, will receive a promotional boost with a free eSpotlight email and a social media takeover on GRCA’s channels.

For those interested in purchasing 10 or more digital passports, bulk orders can be arranged by contacting Anna Lisa at [email protected]. Businesses looking to participate can sign up through the form available at greaterreading.org/GTBvendor25 and email events coordinator Katie Johnsen at [email protected].

This is a pivotal moment for local businesses to shine and for the community to come together in celebration of local flavors. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to support local vendors while enjoying the best that Greater Reading has to offer. Stay tuned for more updates as the event date approaches!
