Costco Issues Urgent Recall of Salads Over Plastic Contamination
UPDATE: Costco has just announced a major recall affecting two popular salad items due to possible plastic contamination. Customers who purchased the Kirkland Signature Caesar Salad and the Chicken Sandwich with Caesar Salad are urged to take immediate action.
The recall affects products with a Sell By Date ranging from October 17 to November 9, 2025. This notice, issued on November 7, 2025, comes several weeks after the purchase window, raising concerns among customers who may still have the products at home.
Officials from Costco and Ventura Foods confirmed that “plastic foreign material” was discovered in the salad dressing of both recalled items. The affected salads are identified by Item Number 19927 for the Caesar Salad and Item Number 11444 for the Chicken Sandwich with Caesar Salad.
Customers are advised to “please stop eating the product and return it to your local Costco for a full refund.” While a list of impacted locations has not been provided, the recall affects select stores in the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast regions of the United States.
This recall is not an isolated incident; earlier this month, Costco pulled nearly one million bottles of wine due to safety concerns, following a pattern of product recalls this year related to plastic contamination. Just last month, a popular pork product nationwide was also recalled for containing plastic shards.
As food safety remains a top priority, customers are reminded to stay vigilant about product recalls. For more information, visit the official Costco recalls page. Stay tuned for updates as this situation develops.
