BREAKING: Channing Tatum just shared intriguing insights about his co-star Kirsten Dunst in a revealing interview ahead of their film’s premiere. The duo recently completed filming Roofman, directed by Derek Cianfrance, which will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025, before hitting theaters on October 10, 2025.

Tatum opened up about his experience working alongside Dunst, describing her as refreshingly down-to-earth. “She’s not a diva, where she could easily be, and have earned that,” Tatum stated in an interview with Variety. He added, “She wants to have a cigarette and a whiskey with you and talk s**t,” showcasing Dunst’s approachable and engaging personality on set.

The film Roofman is inspired by the true story of notorious robber Jeffrey Manchester, a former U.S. Army Reserve officer known for breaking into restaurants, primarily McDonald’s, through their roofs. Tatum portrays Manchester, bringing a physical transformation to the role that has garnered attention.

In preparation for his character, Tatum revealed he lost an impressive 65 pounds, stating, “I was a big boy.” He emphasized the challenges of his transformation, admitting that he followed a strict “model diet,” which he humorously described as “starving.” The actor credited his nutritionist for helping him overcome his dislike for vegetables, saying, “It’s a texture thing.”

The film also stars notable actors including LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Peter Dinklage, Uzo Aduba, and Ben Mendelsohn, promising an ensemble performance that fans are eagerly anticipating.

As the excitement builds for Roofman‘s premiere at TIFF, Tatum’s candid remarks about Dunst and his rigorous preparation for the role add a personal touch that fans can connect with. The film’s storyline, combined with the actors’ dynamic, is set to make waves in the coming weeks.
