URGENT UPDATE: Melba Lorraine McCully, a cherished member of the Kirkwood community, has passed away at the age of 93 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis on August 7, 2025. Her loss is felt deeply by family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.

Lorraine, originally from Moberly, Missouri, was born on September 5, 1931, and spent most of her life in her hometown until relocating to Kirkwood in October 2021 to be closer to her daughters. A proud alumna of Moberly Area Junior College, she graduated in 1949 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Myron Ray McCully, on August 27, 1950.

During her career, Lorraine made significant contributions as a secretary and then as a Records Clerk at Southwestern Bell Telephone, ultimately retiring in 1986 as a Network Services Supervisor. She briefly returned to work as the legal administrator for Orscheln Brothers Industries before fully retiring in 2005.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was actively involved in her family’s lives, attending graduations, weddings, and performances, ensuring she was present for every major milestone.

“Lorraine was not just a family member; she was a cornerstone of support and love,” said her daughter, Dr. Belinda Wilucki.

Active in her community, Lorraine served as the past president of the Business and Professional Women’s chapter in Moberly and was a charter member of Timber Lake Christian Church. Her faith was integral to her life, and she participated in various church activities, including teaching Sunday School and sponsoring youth groups.

Lorraine is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Belinda Wilucki and Mrs. Melinda Dull, along with multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Lorraine’s honor be made to Timber Lake Christian Church. A memorial service is scheduled for August 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The community is invited to celebrate Lorraine’s life, reflecting on her many contributions and the love she shared with all. A private inurnment will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.

As we remember Melba Lorraine McCully, her spirit of kindness and dedication to family and community will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
