2-Year-Old Kaimir Jones Killed by Rottweilers at Georgia Daycare

URGENT UPDATE: A tragic attack has claimed the life of 2-year-old Kaimir Jones at an unlicensed daycare center in Valdosta, Georgia. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when Kaimir was reportedly mauled by two Rottweiler dogs while the daycare owner, Stacy Wheeler Cobb, 48, napped.
According to the Valdosta Police Department, Cobb left Kaimir unattended for more than two hours. Authorities believe the toddler accessed the backyard and opened the kennel where the Rottweilers were kept. The heartbreaking details were shared by Kaimir’s mother, Adrianna Jones, in a GoFundMe post, stating that video footage showed the dogs “mauled my baby to his death.”
Police responded to the scene around 3:45 p.m., finding Kaimir already deceased. The daycare, located 228 miles south of Atlanta, typically accommodates up to 10 children, but Kaimir was the only child present at the time of the incident.
Cobb has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children. She is currently held at Lowndes County Jail, with no indication if she has legal representation. The Valdosta Police Department is continuing its investigation and anticipates further charges may follow.
“This is a horrible and tragic event that should have never occurred,” said Valdosta Police Chief Leslie Manahan. “Because of negligence on this offender’s behalf, a mother has tragically lost a child.”
Jones expressed her devastation in her GoFundMe, revealing that she sensed something was wrong when Cobb failed to check in for over three hours. “This was a heartbreaking, devastating, and traumatizing scene that I wouldn’t wish on anyone,” she wrote.
Following the incident, the two Rottweilers and a third dog from the residence have been taken by Lowndes County Animal Control. The community is rallying around Jones as she navigates this tragic loss.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the police urge anyone with information to come forward. This heartbreaking event highlights the urgent need for stricter regulations surrounding daycare operations and animal control.
