Starship Achieves Successful Splashdown in Indian Ocean After Flight 10

SpaceX’s Starship successfully completed its historic Flight 10, culminating in a controlled splashdown in the Indian Ocean on August 26, 2025. This mission marked a significant milestone for the ambitious rocket designed to facilitate human settlement on Mars. In a post on X, the company noted, “Starship made it through reentry with intentionally missing tiles, completed maneuvers to intentionally stress its flaps, had visible damage to its aft skirt and flaps, and still executed a flip and landing burn that placed it approximately 3 meters from its targeted splashdown point.”
The Ship’s precision in landing was a highlight of Flight 10, as it splashed down near a buoy equipped with cameras, showcasing the vehicle’s accuracy. This successful splashdown was particularly noteworthy, as all three of the Ship’s previous test flights in 2025 had ended prematurely.
Flight 10 also marked several other important achievements. The Ship successfully reignited one of its Raptor engines in space, a feat accomplished in only one prior flight.
